This relatively new brand of makeup has made a definite splash in the cosmetics industry. Women are obsessed with it and it’s beautiful products and packaging and can’t seem to wait to get their hands on it.
I was one of those women. I myself had watched the founder of Seint (Maskcara) and several influencers for several years before taking the leap and trying it for myself.
And I wanted to let you know what I thought of it.

This post is not sponsored by Seint/Maskcara beauty, I am not an seller of Seint/Maskcara and the opinions are all mine. This post, however, does contain affiliate links, which means that if you click and make a purchase, I may receive a small commission at no extra cost to you. Thanks! Now on with the show…
In November 2020, Maskcara changed their brand name to Seint. According to their website, ‘Seint’ is the original traditional French spelling of the English word ‘saint’.
There is also already a clean makeup brand called Saint, so that would be extra confusing.
Why Did Maskcara Change Their Name to Seint?
The website says that the original name wasn’t fitting the company as a whole for a few reasons, and that saints are not created but “recognized for the good they bring into the world” and they give a similar recognition for and preservation of beauty.
In this article, I will use both the Seint and Maskcara names, and will start with a little bit about my general order, and how it went on my face. If you want to know more about how to apply the makeup, what I ordered and thought about the colors and brushes, and how to order, that information is also below.
Seint Demi Colour line
Seint makeup recently introduced a new line of products called Demi Colour, which is intended for you to look natural, as though your wearing no makeup at all. You can go here for more information on how Demi Colour works.
My Seint/Maskcara Package: What I Bought
The package that I got was very nicely packaged a with the pretty products inside.
The first picture is the items mostly unboxed (with the tins opened to show general colors.) I got two brushes, one (free) compact because I order 4+ tins, and 5 tins — 2 foundational colors, one contour, one highlight, and one illuminator.

The Signature Seint/Maskcara Brushes
Seint has a very unique set of brushes that are specifically designed for use with their products.
The brushes I got were the 30 second HAC brush and the B Squared Bronzer and Blush Brush (in the image below).
I only bought the B Squared brush because it came in a bundle with the bronzer I was buying and the combo was significantly cheaper.
They have very similar tips to other brushes, but frankly, these brushes are beautiful in that they’re sturdy and gold & rose gold.
They are also all double-ended. Which is really convenient to not have several brushes; but that’s not all it’s cracked up to be…

A couple of things I didn’t realize about the brushes: being double ended is great in that you get two-in-one, however, they become a bit of a bear to store.
You can’t really stand them on one end, as that’s not terribly sanitary but also might press one end of the brush into an unwanted angle.
Also, they’re very long, and I found that most of my makeup brush storage holders for travel won’t fit them without one of the ends being bent.
One hack my Artist imparted was that you can use the individual boxes that they come in to protect them during travel.
I thought that would’ve been the best idea, but that would only last so long and I knew I would need to find a long-term solution.
Overall, if I were to buy more, I would next have bought the Detail HAC brush, as it would’ve really helped with the contour application, but I figured I would space out my purchases over a few months.
The basic brushes to get started were approximately $35 each, which I found a little pricey, but they are double ended, so you can consider the price two for one.
I did find some similar, highly rated makeup applicators (as below 👇) on Amazon if you can only afford the Masckara makeup itself but not applicators.

The Seint Compact Palettes

I bought this compact, as this one and many of the other ones are really beautiful.
However, I was disappointed, and wish I would have gotten a picture. The compact was an overlay of paper. Now, I didn’t expect the compact to be actual marble.
However, I thought that maybe it was a plastic with a printed design, or at least maybe a paper with a glaze to smooth it on top.
With the products being cream, it stained the paper section of the compact, was difficult to clean off/keep clean, and I really don’t know that the paper would hold up over more than a couple months of use.
Since you have to swipe up/down or sideways, there is very likely that some of it swipes onto the compact.
The Seint/Maskcara Method of Makeup Application
I began following the founder of Seint (originally called Maskcara) makeup, Cara Killpack, several years ago, when she, as a beauty blogger, won an award from Allure Beauty in approximately 2014, for her HAC (pronounced ‘hack’) method.
HAC stands for “highlight and contour”, which is basically a way of applying makeup such that you create light and shadows on your face to respectively bring forward and recede the appropriate areas to make your face look more perfectly proportioned.
Notice I didn’t call one specific product “foundation”
Today, Seint has taken the HAC concept to a new level, and offers a line of highlights, contours, bronzers, illuminators, blushes (which also serve as lip colors), eyeshadows, makeup tools, and even skincare.
That’s because Seint/Masckara has what they call IIID (3D) Foundation, where the “highlight” and “contour” colors work together to make up your foundation.
For Seint/Maskcara purposes and here, “highlights” are general foundation that will go all over your face.
So, you’re applying the Seint termed “highlight” (aka, foundation) colors generally all over the face, often using a lighter color under the eyes, down the nose, anywhere you would use a concealer in the traditional highlighting and contouring makeup routine.
I feel like I should say, you may be confused by the term “highlights”, as those are typically referred to in the makeup world as shimmery colors used at the tops of cheeks and directly beneath the eyebrows.
Those are the “illuminators” in Seint terms.
The concept is generally that, instead of applying foundation all over your face and then going back and applying layers of concealer and contour over that, you have different colors of foundation and put those on in the applicable areas, saving you time and many steps.
Here is Seint/Maskcara’s method, which they supply to their customers, for applying their products.

Also, they have these beautiful magnetized makeup pallets/compacts, so you buy a small tin of the makeup item and snap it directly into your compact.
And they have really nice patterns on the compacts, classy and, honestly, just fun to open and close.
It does seem a pretty fabulous company, as it does really seem to uplift women in more so enhancing their natural beauty instead of completely remaking their face and wearing tons of layers of makeup.
It is a direct sales company, so the sellers/distributors are called Seint “Artists” and receive a commission on their sales.
Does Seint Have Clean Ingredients?
Before I buy any skincare product, I look at the “clean-ness” of the ingredients.
Since Seint nor Maskcara are explicitly evaluated by EWG, you have to look up ingredients separately then make your own decision.
Per the EWG Skin Deep website, here is a list of the Sandy highlight ingredients and each of their safe ratings from EWG:
Liquid Paraffin- 1-3; Petrolatum- 4; Ozokerite Wax- 1; Beeswax- 1; Cetyl Esters- 1; Lanolin- 1; Zinc Stearate- 2; Phenoxyethanol- 4; Iron Oxides- 2; Titanium Dioxide- 1-3; Ultramarines- 1-4
Here are what the number ratings mean from the EWG site:

Generally, I shoot for products that have a 3 or less overall product rating from EWG, but it’s not a disqualifier. But there are definitely cleaner brands out there.
There are some products in their database that have individual ingredients with a 4 rating and they will still give it an overall 3 rating.
So, having a few ingredients rated at 4 didn’t bother me too much.
Other “non-toxic” beauty companies use some of these ingredients as well, namely the Phenoxyethanol.
By the way, the term “non-toxic” is not regulated in the US by the FDA or any other organization.
How to Buy Seint/Maskcara Makeup
In order to buy the products, you should contact a Seint “Artist” (the company’s direct sales reps).
Though you can buy directly from the company, I believe in supporting women in business and helping them build.
I’d rather someone directly benefit from my purchase, as the Artists get commissions on their sales.
Plus, you have a contact within the company to help you should you have any problems or questions.
Some of the Artists will have direct websites where you can fill out a short questionnaire and submit a makeup-free photo, and others will have you direct/private message them on Instagram or Facebook.
As I said before, I’d been following several Artists, and I finally picked one that I felt was very energetic, smart, and sweet.
She also gave a lot of tips on how to do makeup for the older face, particularly on how to do eyeshadow on hooded eyes, which I have.
I filled out the form on her website, and she emailed me with colors that she was recommending for my particular skin tone and concerns. She also answered my questions really well.
Ordering
When you go to their website (each artist has their own personal website, so I won’t provide a link here), you will see that their makeup line products are reasonably priced.
The majority of their basic products (foundation, bronzer, illuminator) in the larger tins are $14-16, and they claim that they will last for a few months.
All of the products are very pigmented, which means you will only need a little bit to get the coloring and coverage that you want.
This, in turn, means that your products last longer.
(However, as discussed above, my contour took quite a lot to show up, but you don’t generally use much of it so it still may have lasted the expected amount of time.)
After a quick search, I couldn’t find how long Masckara officially projects that their products will last. However, it must have come from somewhere, as I have seen the following approximate lengths presented by multiple individual artists’ websites and Instagram accounts.

You can also get a “free” compact to put your tins into by ordering a certain number of products.
It varies by the size of the compact as to how many products you need to get it for free, but I ordered 5 tins so I got the basic Quad compact that fits 4 tins.
I figured I’d upgrade to a bigger compact if I like the product.
I bought 2 brushes, 2 highlights (foundation) (one lighter and one darker), 1 contour, 1 bronzer, and 1 illuminator, and got a free compact because I had bought at least 4 tins.
I spent $130 before tax, which really wasn’t a bad price, especially because foundations can be significantly more expensive per unit.
Also, I could tell based on how I used them, the bronzer, contour, and illuminator would have lasted me quite a while. I had a beauty blender sponge already, so I didn’t order one of theirs.
The packaging is a really nice presentation and makes you excited to try it all out!
What I Thought of the Makeup
My first time using the makeup was really nice. It went on pretty easily.
I don’t generally like to do too much highlighting under my eyes, as I just look washed out if I do that. The same with trying to cover my dark circles and bags. That’s just what works for me.
So, my order of the lighter foundation was fairly useless for me, but that strategy works for a lot of people.
Do I think that the foundation colors will last as long as they say?
I doubt it. I had made a pretty good dent in my tin in about 3 weeks, and I didn’t even use it every day.
It did cover fairly well, and while my dark spots didn’t completely disappear, it did cover them to greatly decrease them. (My biggest spot is on my left cheek.)
It did cover my redness pretty well, which I have all over, especially at my lower lash line and on my chin.
Please excuse my serious and weird face, I’m not the best at taking selfies but tried to get a good representation of how the makeup covered.
Left side

Right side — before blending

Front face in sunlight — just Seint/Maskcara brand makeup, with a little bit of mascara on my eyelashes, no lip color applied yet

I wasn’t a huge fan of the Bella bronzer.
Frankly, it looked like I smeared red clay mud on my face. And yes I was using it as directed. And then stopped using it because I didn’t like i
The contour color I was recommended was okay, but it took a good bit more of the product than the foundation and bronzer before it would show up on my skin.
Conclusion – My Seint/Maskcara Makeup Experience
I will tell you now, I did, sadly, end up returning everything I bought. And there are a few reasons that led to this decision, but there was one primary reason that was out of my or anyone else’s control.
Seint (formerly Maskcara) has a 30 day money back guarantee if you are unhappy with the product. They also offer an exchange program where you get 60 days.
It’s always important to check something like this before you spend this much money.
My Color Match
Now, I know Seint has a different application technique, but I was generally applying correctly…
Let’s just say makeup application is not nearly the hardest thing I’ve done in life, and I had watched enough Artist tutorials to get the gist of how they intended for it to be used.
Here was my problem with my order: the colors recommended were too yellow for my skin tone.
I needed a bit more of a peach/orange/pink in my foundation, and communicated this to my Artist and requested colors that were more fitting, or at least a color chart and I would pick out my own.

It is probably difficult to tell because it doesn’t capture well via computers, but over the bridge of my nose and into my temple is the yellowness that I disliked (the only part that has makeup). I also look like I have a huge crook in my nose… need to up my selfie game, lol …
As with any transaction, as I said in this post, you have to be your own advocate and should research ahead of time items such as return policies in case it doesn’t work out.
I don’t know about you, but when I spend over $100 or so, I make sure I know what I’m getting into and what steps to take if it doesn’t work out.
~And here is where I have edited the rest of this section.~
I had a long writeup on the individual interactions with the Artist. The info and communication with her was at first very timely and helpful. I want to give credit where it is due.
As I began to have issues, however, it became… confusing & frustrating… in many ways that indicated to me that she has a lot of customers and had trouble keeping up with all the replies she needed to make, as I had to follow up on two requests for info/help (first one sent on a Monday and followed up Thursday, second sent on a Friday and followed up the next Wednesday).
There was also a lack of continuity in our conversations, which also told me she was overwhelmed with the sheer volume of customers & dm’s she has, as a major instagram influencer.
At the end, the Artist asked me to provide an application video, as she thought I was using too much per application.
Again, they tell you the coverage is “buildable” (meaning you can use more if you feel you need it), but also, if my sun/age spots were showing through, I clearly wasn’t using it that thickly.
I did not provide that video – partly because I could tell application wasn’t going to solve how completely off the colors were for me.
I am not a professional makeup artist, but I have dealt with foundations enough to know what’s what; I just wasn’t familiar with Seint’s particular color line.
If you’re not getting the customer service you need to be successful with a product, return the product and find another Artist who will help you or will give you other color options.
Generally, you want to stay with the direct seller who got you interested in the product (I learned my lesson on that), but if they can’t provide consistent customer service when you have problems, you are not obligated to stay with them for life.
I am a bit of a stickler on foundation matching and being an appropriate color, including matching my neck, and when the color was that far off, adding or subtracting the same product isn’t going to help.
The only thing I could do to help the yellowness subside was add a swipe or two of the Bella bronzer onto my brush (remember how I said earlier it was very red, and later said I needed more of a red tone to my foundation color?)
But trying to blend colors on a brush is a very delicate balancing act and I didn’t want to be out in public with weird streaks of red clay mud on my face because I pressed too hard on one stroke and didn’t blend well enough or couldn’t blend without redoing it all.
But in regards to returning the product, while we were trying to hash out the color matching issues, I was concurrently discovering that when I used the product, I was having a completely different issue…
My Skin Reaction
The primary reason that I ended up returning the Maskcara was that, as much as I tried to deny it, my face would begin to feel hot and itchy every time I used it.
I’m not sure which ingredient was irritating my skin, and my skin never broke out or turned red with heat, but it felt like it did, and it itched nonetheless.
I was hoping for a while that I was wrong or that it was a new botanical perfume I’d been using, but the last time I used solely the makeup as a test, my face began to itch again.
This all made me sad because I would have definitely hung in with it and found the right shades that suited me better by myself or with a different Artist if I had to, but alas, it was not meant to be.
I’m not sure it was a full-blown allergy. I don’t have super sensitive skin, and it’s compatible with most products, but this was enough to be uncomfortable while wearing it.
And I have had several comments below that say the same thing, so clearly it’s not just me. But, I do know people who use it just fine, including one who does tend to have sensitive skin, so, to each her own.
What I Am Using Now
I had not planned on going over other options, but due to some comments and social media message requests for alternatives, I went ahead and added this section.
I can NEVER find foundations that I like in a texture, coverage and shade that I like.
I’ve really only found one foundation that I’ve ever really liked (until recently), and it is the Revlon Photoready Insta-Fix.
It comes in a stick, which is fine, easy for application. The price is definitely right!
But, I wanted to try something a little different.
I have recently been watching a few Youtube videos on really great foundations.
One I saw recommended by famous Youtube makeup influencer Tati Westbrook on her Youtube channel is the L’Oreal Infallible 24Hr Fresh Wear.
She said that she had gotten so many comments as to how great it was and how it was sold out everywhere, so she tried it and posted a video putting it on and then at the end of the day.
And she was quite impressed, and in her end-of-the day segment of the video, you could tell it stayed really well.
I have recently been using it and I wholeheartedly agree, it is pretty fabulous.
And the price is great, too. (Though she mentions in this video that foundation is the place to spend your money, but when you get a great one like this, it’s arguable – except that I prefer non-toxic if I can get it.)
I use the color 490 Golden Amber for the summer, and a little bit of that mixed with 440 Natural Rose in the winter.
If you tend to be very pale, definitely go down to one of the lighter shades, as I tend to be darker than my friends who generally call themselves pale.
TIP: Put your foundation on and blend with a damp beauty blender sponge. I LOVE this one because it’s so fluffy.
It goes on so well, and is great for aging and/or variously textured skin!
Using the beauty blender hides my large pores, imperfections, and age lines SOOOO much better. Can’t stress this enough, wish I had found this secret much sooner!
Quick, On the Go Makeup
I also bought the stick version of the Infallible foundation for days I just want to run out quickly but want a bit of quick coverage.
I ca draw it on, rub it into my skin, and go!
Aging Skin
I’ve also seen multiple times from multiple Youtube stars with mature skin recommending the It Cosmetics CC Cream as the winner for a decent coverage, and is good for a quick routine on the go.
This is going to be my next purchase to try.
Mascara Recommendations
The secret to really amp up regular mascara for volume and length is to layer two different mascaras.
I am currently using this one first (not my favorite applicator ever, but you get used to it) then putting on top of it my all-time favorite, always reliable waterproof mascara, both of these are very agreeable to my pocketbook.
(And when they say waterproof, they mean it! Though it also comes in regular (non-waterproof) formula for most days.)
I have also tried this mascara because I heard it looks like you have on false lashes. I will say, for a one-off mascara, it is pretty great. Let me know in the comments below if you want a full review on it!
Non-Toxic Mascaras I Love & Recommend
If you want non-toxic mascaras, I have been using this ‘Volumizing and Lengthening Vegan Mascara & Lash Conditioner/Serum for Fuller Lashes’ and I feel like it really lengthens my lashes a bit, I love the applicator and typically use the fatter end.
I also have this vegan & cruelty-free ‘Length & Strength Mascara’, and the price is much easier to afford than the one above – I do like the applicator on it as well.
Leave me a comment below if you want me to update with pics on how all of these mascaras performed and what I liked best!
Would I Recommend Seint/Maskcara Makeup?
Probably. Especially if you don’t have sensitive skin.
If you’re really excited to try it, like I was, I would say go for it.
You can always return it if it’s unsatisfactory.
But if you’re looking to switch to non-toxic products like I am, there are a lot of better options out there. I was willing to sacrifice that if it worked, bc the product isn’t super toxic, but when I think about it, if I’m honest, I got drawn in by the packaging and gorgeous influencer Artists probably more than anything.
No product experience is 100% perfect for 100% of the population.
Regardless of my personal experience with the (suspected allergic) skin reaction and issues with my Artist, these are no fault of the company, nor are they a reflection on individual artists and the product itself.
In addition, the company is uplifting to women and their natural beauty, and I know lots of people in my artist’s Facebook group are delighted and satisfied with their purchases (though some post pictures and I do see that their purchased color is not great for their skin tone and it looks like a mask, but maybe it’s the lighting, who knows…)
I liked the way the makeup applied and sat on my skin more or less but didn’t wear it for long periods of time, so I really can’t comment as to whether it stayed extraordinarily well.
The price was good for foundation, but the initial overall investment for foundation, contour, blush, bronzer and a brush or two is probably $100-$150.
But that’s to be expected with a direct sales product.
The question, based on my experience, is how long the products, particularly the foundation, would last with regular use.
Even at that, the price isn’t terrible to replace, but I suspect that I would have been replacing them more often than I expected. Other friends who have used this makeup for a few months now somewhat agree with this.
How to Return Seint Makeup
Before you purchase anything like makeup that is highly individual, you should look up the return policy.
Seint currently has a 30 day return policy. You can find the details here.
Scroll down to the bottom, and there will be a ‘Start Return’ button.
I found the process pretty easy and the refund was issued timely once they received my returned package.
Let me know what you think. Have you tried Seint/Maskcara? Did you like it? What other brands of clean makeup have you tried and like? What should I try next? Let me know in the comments below, I would LOVE to hear from you!

Hi Kelly,
How did you get your artist to finally send you the return form? My skin also itches with this make up. Customer service was great when I was buying. Pretty slow response when trying to return. I am hoping my artist is honest and not trying to hold me up past the 30 day return date.
Thanks
Hi, Michelle! Sorry you didn’t have luck with this either. I made sure I got mine returned within the 30 days, which was a little bit of my frustration to get her to respond.
All you have to do is go to https://www.maskcarabeauty.com/en/policies-procedures/us#return-policy and there’s a linked form you fill out and send that with your original receipt or whatever the current directions are (I scanned the receipt and form for my own record purposes just in case there was a dispute). You mail it back with the makeup and brushes. Maskcara suggests getting a tracking number, if you’re in the US, the USPS will default to the type of shipping that has a free tracking #. In about a week, I got an email saying the refund had been made and it did go back to my card.
Ironically, the artist emailed me to see if I needed help once she got notice of my return, she clearly had no recollection of anything. Oh well.
Good luck!
I liked Seint makeup until the Boxing sale where they discounted items that they still had in Maskcara packaging. I order other items not in the boxing sale, and when I got those items in they were in Maskcara packaging. I emailed them about the items, and asked why they were not marked down. They responded that they didn’t put every item still packaged as Maskcara in the boxing sale. They are trying to make money off of people. I will not be buying any more products from them for this reason.
I’m sorry this happened, Tonya. Seems confusing for sure.
I’ve been very tempted to try Seint (Maskcara) but the paraffin wax and petroleum in the product is a turn off. I’m glad I came across your blog.
One product I’ve been using for awhile is Kari Gran. I love her skin care products and mineral makeup. It’s easy to apply and affordable too. The products last for months, depending on how you use them of course. Check out her website kairgran.com.
Suzie
I will have to check that out. Thanks for the tip, Suzie!!
Hi there
I am on day 3 of using Seint. I love the idea & concept. I’ve been waiting a pretty long time to try this product line. Unfortunately, today my skin is itching like I’ve got bugs crawling on my face. I also have an indent on my chin. I have absolutely no idea what this is from??? The only thing new to my skin is Seint. It almost looks like it could be Ringworm…UGHHH!!
Now, I’m trying to decide how to proceed.
Disappointed if I have allergic to this line or just have sensitivity to it. Regardless, I cannot walk around daily feeling like I’ve got bugs crawling on me. Lol
Hope this makes sense! Perhaps, others have had similar problems?
Thanks for your post and allowing others to comment.
Cheers
Jen
Yes. If you have any sensitivity, it will likely only get worse. You can return it if it is within the return period. Thanks for the comment!
Do you have to send the palette back too with it if you only return one or two shades?
I’m not sure, Kianna, maybe Michelle will know?
Hi, I tried it and my face was itchy too! I also tried to ignore because of all the great comments and posts online so I kept trying and after a few days of wearing the makup I started getting huge pimples! So I stopped.. and it took me weeks to let my skin recoop from a few days of wearing Maskcara 🙁 anyways I am oily prone and occasinal breakouts during my monthly.. but this was bad! Never had this before.. than I read an article online that said parrafin is a no no for acne and oily skin? And than I read Maskcara makeup is liquid parrafin base so perhaps this was the issues.. anyways I wish I loved it like everyone else because I had such high Hope’s! thx for the read as I thought I cant be the only one who is reacting.
Hi, Debbie. Yeah, I tried to ignore it, and I, like you, thought I was the only one reacting this way. I hadn’t heard heard that about paraffin wax, but it does seem like it’d clog pores pretty easily. Thanks for sharing your experience!
Hi Kelly! Thank you for this review. It was really super helpful and informative. I am curious… have you ever tried LimeLife by Alcone?
Hi, Rachel. Thanks so much. I haven’t, but I think I have a fb friend that sells it. Is it non-toxic?
Yes, it is as well as Paraben and gluten free. It’s also cruelty free and almost all of our products are vegan as well. We also have an all natural plant based skincare line made with organic ingredients that is super effective. I would love to see what you thought of the line especially compared up to Maskara. I do sell the products and love to hear how people compare them to other lines out there. If you have ever talked to your friend about the line then reach out to her to try it out. Let me know what you think.
I also had a skin irritation. My face went red and itchy, my eyelids swelled up like balloons. Went to see my doctor and she told me it was the product that created a contact dermatitis reaction and not to use it. I am unsure which ingredients caused this reaction, I never had this happen with makeup before. It took about 5 days for my face and eyes to return to normal. I think it is a good product and do not discourage anyone from trying it. It just did not work out for me.
Oh no! I’m sorry that happened! I don’t react to a lot of makeup, but I guess this one did it and several people are commenting they’re having reactions as well. Thanks for the comment!
Wow the same thing happened to me! I tried the makeup for the first time after being talking into buying it from a mom in a group I follow. I regret ever buying this. My eyelids swelled up and I immediately contacted my doctor, he said it so severe that he’s never seen a reaction that bad. He gave me antibiotics. I’m so upset my eyelashes have even fallen out on one eye where the swelling was the worst.
To top it off it’s so new to Canada and the lady I bought it from is saying it can’t be their product maybe it was my mascara(a brand I’ve been using for years without issues).
I just want to warn people, please be careful what you buy and who you buy from.
They have silicone in their foundation which doesn’t allow your skin to breath while wearing it! Could be contributing to the hot and itchy feeling you are getting!
Also I don’t know why they advertise it as vegan, it contains beewax which is an animal product 🤷🏼♀️
I cannot use silicones at all and have no problem with Maskcara/Seint. I actually bought it because it didn’t have silicone. Several lip and cheek colors have dimethicone so I avoid those.
I’ve tried it and I’m back and fourth on it. I love how it looks at first but then my face starts to look and get very shiny and oily. I’ve tried powder under and over but this still happens. It’s almost as if the makeup slides off. I’m past my return date so that’s not an option but I hope that someday it’ll work.
Hi, Kelli. That would probably happen to me, I tend to be oily as well. I know they sell a “stay” spray, maybe your artist would be willing to send you a small spray bottle with a sample of it to see if it’ll work? Doesn’t hurt to ask, it might be worth her while to keep a customer 🙂
I love Maskcara! I have hyper-sensitive 71 year old skin and this makeup makes my skin look dewy and pretty. I use the Stay spray to set it. You only need a small amount of product as they are highly pigmented. I had to learn to press the makeup into my skin rather than brush it on and then use my sponge to blend. I never used to contour as it just made my face look dirty but now I am a pro. I ordered an eyeshadow that I didn’t like and had no problem returning it. I just used their online form. Overall, I give this company 5 stars. The simplicity of having all my makeup in one pretty palette is convenient. I just have to keep from wanting to try all the new colors!
Great! I have some friends who have just discovered it and love it too.
Thanks for your honest opinion!
I try to stay away from companies like this, but a friend is an artist and keeps inviting me to shows…so, this helps!
That being said, my favorite mascara, foundation (color correcting tinted moisturizer) and eyeshadow comes from Senegence (I don’t sell it)…I’m also obsessed with mascara…theirs is amazing.
I’m super oily and here’s what I do. I “bake” with a loose powder (I currently have some KVD that works well) and then I use a matte make-up setting spray on a damp sponge applicator and bounce that over my skin as a last step. My Seint artist had amazing tips and i combined them to find this solution that works for me!
I’m very oily and extremely sensitive skin as well and I have never had an issue with it up to this point . Not even a tiny breakout. I know we are all individuals but it just seems crazy that such severe reactions could happen with this product . Also I thought after seeing the pictures that the color was a great match . The yellow neutralizes a lot of those things we don’t like on our faces and hides them . Just my opinion but I think the artist by looking at you could see what colors would work best. And NO I am no king of affiliate with seint I just love the products and personally had to change my idea of what I thought was the best color for myself and try what I was advised and guess what ? It looks beautiful!
Wow, this is the best, most comprehensive makeup review I ha e ever read; you answered all my questions! I was considering Maskara but based on negative reviews and then your comprehensice one, I don’t think itnis for me. I too have been recommended foundations that were too yellow for me. And the hassle you went through upon returning (especially asking you to provide a video of yourself applying the makeup seems ridiculous).
Thank you for investing so much time into providing such an informative review!
Tonya, thanks so much for the feedback! I know other people have had success with it, and haven’t had quite the hassle (nor the color matching problems), this was just my review and experience. I probably would have just returned the product and tried to figure out the colors myself or with another artist if I hadn’t had the skin issue. But yes, the video of my application wasn’t going to change the effect of the colors, so it all worked out in time for me to return it. Anyway, thanks for the comment and I’m glad you found it helpful!
I am so very very glad to have found your review. I did a lot of research and reading and I was just about to buy it and then at the last minute I’m thinking I should read some reviews like yours if I could find it. Yours was exactly what I needed. I need a lot of coverage due to scarring on my face and I just don’t think this is going to give it to me. When you said you look like you had mud on your face when I looked at the tens and saw all that brown I can certainly see why you would say that. Thank you again for your comprehensive review and sharing it with the rest of us God Bless
Hi, Joss! I’m glad you found it helpful! I’m sorry to hear about your scarring, there are cosmetic procedures that can be done whether it’s textured or flat & colored. Thanks for the comment, and best of luck in your product search!
I have been using Maskcara for a few months, Im trying to get used to the feeling of being sticky. Ive tried Finishing powder under and over. Setting Spray. Nothing seems to help. I have oily skin and large pores. Almost feels like the makeup is sliding off my face every time I touch it. I am way past my 30 days. Live and Learn.
Hi, Lori. Thanks for the comment! I’m sorry you’re having that issue. I would’ve thought the powder was enough to prevent the stickiness. My only thought (I feel like this is what my artist would’ve said to me, though this seemed to be her answer for the color not even matching, so take it with a grain of salt), is that you’re maybe using too much, maybe use less? I don’t really know. I do know my brushes got really cakey after a use or two, I kinda disliked it. And I definitely know the struggle of finding good products for oily skin & large pores, you’re not alone! I have been really happy with the 24 hour foundation in the article, it seems to stay pretty well, and use a good beauty blender, that helps conceal imperfections.
It sounds like too much is being used to cause this “sticky” feeling.
I use a primer by Benefit, found at Ulta, called “Pore”fessional. Works really well in smoothing out pores and they actually disappear. It goes on dry and smooth. I now use it under my make up every day on my nose and chin mainly. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a solution for large pores!
Thanks, Renee!!
I would love to see a review of Savvy makeup that Young living sells. I love their oils and use them but not being a makeup person would like some outside reviews before I try it. They are mineral makeups and non toxic from what I can tell. Or maybe you have checked them
Already and could direct me to the review.
I have wanted to try that! I saw one girl use the powder online and it seemed to cover her redness fairly well, which is one of my problems (in addition to melasma, which is nearly impossible to hide). I may take the plunge. If I do, I will update here and post about it. Thanks for the suggestion!
I use and am a beauty guide for Limelife by Alcone. Our all natural skincare will help with your melasma. If you still have a friend that sells, reach out to her, if not I would love to help. I have always had issues with skincare and I can actually use this and love the results. Our foundation also has amazing coverage.
Thank you, Kim! I will look into the ingredients and keep Limelife in mind!
I also recommend trying Limelife
Skin care is made with L’Occitane and the foundation is RCMA professional quality
I would love to read your review of the YL makeup! I’ve been really considering it. I recently ordered some MaskCara back in August and really loved it, but just recently signed up as an artist and my kit is horrible. It’s like the colors are full of waxed parrafin. I’ve contacted the company and they are requesting I review ever tin and let them know which ones are defective. They all are, and what a total wast of my time after making that investment.
Please add me to your subscription list! 🙂
Thanks for the comment, Megan! I’m sorry that happened with your Artist kit, that is weird, and disappointing. I will try the YL next, just since I’ve gotten requests and have been curious myself.
Looking into trying Maskcara and found your blog post helpful! I was pretty bummed to hear, in the end, that you had to return it 🙁 And moreover, that you’ve since found other toxic companies to work better for you (L’oreal Paris Infallible has a rating 7 on EWG)!
Have you tried any other non-toxic make up that you liked better than Maskcara? I have sensitive skin and am pretty certain that itching/irritation would be an issue for me as it was for you.
Hi, Kristen! I haven’t found any non-toxic foundation yet. I am going to order and review the Young Living Savvy Minerals soon, per peoples’ requests, so that’ll be coming next as far as makeup goes. Makeup is so expensive! Lol. I wish they had smaller samples for purchase! I really do like the Loreal, but you’re right, the rating is not good. I only wear it for a couple of days a week for a few hours each, so it’s like a lot of things in life, a tradeoff till you can find better. I do believe the ELF sponge I posted a link to really helps, though, with camouflaging my skin texture. If you have any suggestions, I’m all ears! Thanks for the comment!!
I had the same reaction hot face, then really itchy, I’m so glad it wasn’t just me. Also I have to say the voluminous mascara that you linked is the bomb!!(showing my age). I can confirm that it will last through anything, solid quality!
Yes, I love the Voluminous mascara. I’m looking for a non-toxic alternative that does as well. Thanks for the comment!
Hi, Kelly! Have you tried Crunchi Cosmetics? They are incredibly clean…score really well with EWG and have amazing foundation, primer and their mascara is the BEST clean product I have used! Let me know if you are interested and I can connect you with my consultant….I do not sell the products…just a huge clean makeup fan 😉
Hi! Yes, I have tried Crunchi. I just got their newest foundation, and plan to do a review on it as well, but want to get used to it a bit more before I do a full review. I’ve heard good things about their mascara, but have a few others I’m using/testing out at the moment, and will test out the Crunchi once those run out. Thank you for the suggestion!!
Hi Kelly! I absolutely loved your review and was so happy to find one that was super objective about the experience.
On the note of fully non-toxic mascaras that actually do an unreal job (false lash level volume), Ive found the Speak Volumes mascara from Arbonne incredible! I always had issues with drugstore mascaras making my eyelashes fall out from the chemicals, but the peptides in this stuff actually have built up my lashes density and length. Put on 2 coats and it looks like Ive added fake lashes. I am a consultant with Arbonne but would recommend the mascara to anyone at all looking to make a non-toxic switch that actually does what it says! Its the best!
Thanks for the comment, Melissa! I have heard about peptides being good for lashes, but haven’t heard of that particular one by Arbonne, I might like to try it out when I use up my others.
I’ve been using maskcara for almost a year and love it. Like absolutely obsessed. Too bad it didn’t work out for you.
Yep, I have friends who are obsessed with it too. Thanks for the comment!
This is great I formation. I literally stumbled across Maskcara when I was watching lash videos. I contacted the artist for a color match and she responded with colors the next day. I went a little crazy ordering everything from brushes to eyeshadows in addition to the HAC basics, only to find four of the five shades are out of stock. There was no wait list, option to be notified when they will be available, and no response from my artist. I have emailed the company but they required an order number to submit a question. I obviously hadn’t placed the order because everything is out of stock. I’m waiting, day 2, for a response.
In frustration i came back to the google drawing board to find similar products. Most reviews I’ve seen focus on the ease of purchase, returns, comparisons of this company vs. other MLM companies. Very few review the actual makeup so I thank you for doing so.
With that said, I am 61 with pretty good but aging skin which tends to be dry. Can you recommend a good alternative to Maskcara or where I can find comparable colors through another brand? Many thanks!
Hi, Karin! Thanks for the comment! I’m not a foundation expert, as I haven’t tried a ton. If you want really high performance, I really love this L’Oreal one one I talked about in the article, since it’s so long lasting and good overall coverage. If you want non-toxic, I am hearing really good things about Crunchi foundation, I can send you a referral for a rep if you want to inquire with her.
Also, reps can vary — a good one will keep looking for you, my friends have one who stays in touch with them (they also buy a lot, lol), but it probably depends on how big their audience is and if they care about their individual customers or not.
There’s serious stock issues because of COVID. When I have matched people with out of stock items I let them know up front their colors are out of stock and give them the estimates artists are given as to when they’ll be back and I ALSO add them to a list I keep of people waiting on stock and I check multiple times each day to see if items have restocked so I can let them know it’s ready to order. You’re artist should be keeping tabs on that for you!
Very true, Courtney! Good to know artists get eta on restocks. Thanks for the feedback!
Hi Kelly, I have tried and wasn’t for me- colours that were recommended were not right-my artist was not helpful and I was getting frustrated- I have returned all of products and waiting to get my refund, how long does it take to get my refund.
I didn’t take very long to get my refund, I would give it a week or two for processing once the facility receives it back, but as with everything, watch to make sure it goes through and call them if not! Sorry your experience wasn’t any better than mine. :/
I got 4 tins and the free compact. Do I have to return all if it? Was thinking about keeping the contour and lip and cheek and just returning the 2 highlights.
I’m not sure on the free compact issue, you’ll probably have to talk to Seint customer service about that one. I don’t see why they’d have you send it back, it’s not like they can reuse it.
I was curious about the make up because my skin care company doesn’t have much make up quite yet! Have you tried Bellame? Thoughts?
I have not tried Bellame…
Hey! I was just reading your post because I want to try this makeup that a friend just recently started selling. Your post is awesome and informative and talked about everything I wanted to know about it! I also have very sensitive skin and the best makeup that was life changing for me was 100% pure cosmetics. Check them out since this one didn’t work for you. They are made from all plant ingredients and I love the liquid foundation with spf as well as the eyeshadow/ blush kits. I am still worried about trying Maskcara but I will try it because I want to support a friend. Thank you again for this blog post!
Thanks, Chrissy!
Hi Kelly, I was reading your review on Maskcara, I also tried it but I didn’t like how it make my skin feel, also it didn’t last. I like full Matt coverage and have been using Estée Lauder for a long time but wanted to give Maskcara a try since I’m getting older and my skin is aging. Well, I tried it, I spent about $200, the colors my artist recommended were too dark and I decided to send everything back before my 30 days. I had two separate orders, I filed out two separate return forms and stapled the receipt and the form to the items so they would get mixed up, I mailed both orders together to save on shipping. Well, it’s been about 3 weeks, I received refund for one order, but never for the second order. I emailed my artist to see if she could help, but she said she doesn’t handle that. Customer service has no phone number, I sent them three emails, they finally replied and said they refunded me two weeks ago, they sent me a copy of the refund, but the name, order number and last four digits of credit card were not mine, it was the same amount, but not my credit card. My question is how did it get mixed up? Both orders were sent together, I made sure the refund form and receipt were staples together. Now I’m getting frustrated because I have to send emails and wait days for a response, they don’t have a phone to call them, it’s just ridiculous. They have over 10 thousand artists, but do not have a customer service phone number.
Hi, Grace. Sorry you’re dealing with that. They probably missed the fact that it was two orders, even though you clearly made it out. A good artist would still give you great customer service, even if you did refund it, however, some people just don’t operate that way. While she may not be able to look at what the refund department is doing, she surely has some internal email addresses that you don’t – I know my MLM does – they’re public emails but I don’t think anyone really knows they exist or uses them. Keep emailing them about their error, and stay on it. I would also maybe leverage the power of social media, some company’s facebook and instagram reps are better than other departments. I regularly deal with one company whose facebook messenger reps are on point, the other channels are questionable, lol. Good luck!!
Also, sometimes you can give greater weight to issues like this by bringing up the fact that they provided sensitive payment information to you about another customer, which could lead to data theft. Even though I trust that is not your intention, exposing one person’s data to another is kind of a big deal and that should hopefully get them on the ball. Especially if you leave that comment in the comments section of their social media. Worth a shot.
Have you tried ELF makeup? I have very sensitive skin and have only used Clinique for the last 20 years, but thought of trying Maskcara. I found your review very helpful and well written. I had the same thoughts/fears that you experienced so have decided not to try Maskcara after reading what you and others have gone through. Thank you. This was very helpful.
Hi, Dorie! Yes, I’ve tried ELF and love it! And the price is great, too! I am currently searching for non-toxic makeup to love – it can get pricey though so it ends up being small pieces at a time. Thanks for the comment! =)
I appreciate your comments and recommendations (I have tried many of them). I have very sensitive, aging skin, my ‘go to’ foundations are Covergirl Olay cream and Mineneralogie mineral powder foundations as they both work for my sensitive fair skin.
Thanks for the comment, Amanda! I haven’t tried either of those products but I know the Olay cream is popular, I wish they’d make more non-toxic products because theirs work really well.
I have a friend that swears by Maskcara, and is hosting a party. I guess I will just stick with my SkinTwin for now. Thanks for the great review!
I am interested to see your thoughts on Young Living. I am a member but wasn’t impressed with their mascara, so I never tried anything else.
Thanks for the comment, Sally! I do need to try that Young Living, but trying out some Crunchi first, as I hear amazing reviews of it. Non-toxic makeup isn’t cheap lol.
This was amazingly helpful! The brush recommendations are heaven sent! It’s worth a shot for me to try these brushes instead of the “real deal”. As far as the makeup, I’m the type that has to try it for myself since I’ve been so curious about it for sooo many months. I completely agree about finding the right artist! Luckily, through some of my “research” I found a color chart that someone made up and compared it to my color matches. Fingers crossed. Again, absolutely loved your review!
Thanks, Carrie! I’m so glad it was helpful!!
Thank you for this review. I have been using it, and it has worked well for me. Although, I appreciate the “too much yellow” concern. I’m hoping to match one a bit better for the same reason. I really appreciated the section of your review regarding the clean ratings. Have you done one on the other foundation you shared that you are currently using? I’d really like to know. It would also make it more of an apples-to-apples review. Thanks a bunch!
Hi, Cathie. No, I haven’t done a review on the foundation that I’m currently using. It’s not non-toxic, and I’d like to focus on non-toxic ones. I do really like it though and a bottle has lasted me a long time, I just wish it were cleaner. Thanks for the comment! Hopefully your artist can get you on the right track!
Thanks for this great review! I used Maskcara before it became an MLM, and it has changed for the worse. For some reason they changed the formula of the make up, and that’s when I started having issues with it as well. Breaking out and itching. I had my dermatologist look into the ingredients and she told me to stop using it, and said the makeup is the equivalent of cheap drugstore makeup. I have a friend that is a distributor for maskcara, and she is constantly frustrated with the company. It’s pretty much a pretty girls club, and you don’t get help unless you sell a lot or are in with the right people. The biggest issue with the company for me comes down to the hypocritical messaging. The company pushes natural beauty, but all the big distributors get lip fillers and Botox, and the owner got plastic surgery recently. I think they try to say they are different, but it’s still the beauty industry. There are lots of other great products out there, and I’m glad you shared your honest experience!
Thanks for the comment, Beth! I do know Cara got surgery recently, but I am glad that she was open about it. I know she got her teeth done and fixed a botched nose job, can’t remember if that was from a prior nose job or had sinus repair. Either way, eh, we all do what we can to look good. I wasn’t sure about he ingredients thing, but yes always best to stop using something that breaks you out! Thanks for reading!
I’m half a century old & sadly this make-up is making me breakout like a teenager. Same day- Tiny Pimples everywhere. 🙁
Thank you for your honest review. I thought I was the only one who had a reaction. I initially purchased after I saw a fabulous video in a mom group.
The first time I tried it I had a weird itchy feeling on my lash line but I chose to ignore it. I loved how it looked. The second time was a lot harder to ignore considering I looked like a sad rendition of Will Smith from the movie Hitch.
It took about 7 days a round of antihistamine and antibiotics, and the loss of some lashes on my left eye for it to clear up.
The product is fairly new to Canada and my artist hasn’t been very helpful, she insists it’s not the makeup and must be my mascara( a brand I’ve used for years).
Fingers crossed I can get a refund.
Wow! That is definitely an allergic reaction! Sorry you had such a hard time with it!
Hi, thank you for this review. I was very interested in trying this product until I read it contains beeswax. In the past I have had a sensitivity to products with beeswax so I am now nervous to try this make up. It’s too bad because I was excited for this.
Hey, Courtney. I wasn’t aware beeswax was a common irritant but I guess we can all be allergic to something. Thanks for the comment!!
Have you tried Rejuva Minerals makeup? I have slowly been converting all my makeup over to this brand as it is EWG verified. They always have sales and discount codes being sent to my email too which is when I stock up. They have sample size foundations and various other products so you can spend a small amount to try out before investing a lot into it. I have loved how light their foundation feels and overall have been impressed with this non-toxic makeup line. It could get pricey if you bought all products up front but I’ve slowly been transitioning and has remained affordable as I don’t wear makeup much so lasts a long time.
Oooo, no, I haven’t tried Rejuva Minerals, I haven’t heard of it but I will look into it!! Thanks for the tip!!
Very helpful review as I have dry, sensitive, aging skin and am trying to get over irritation caused by another makeup gifted to me. I am especially impressed with the grace you showed while addressing comments…fair, kind, and genuine. Beauty is truly more than skin deep 😏. Thank you!
Thank you for the comment, Kim! I’m glad it was helpful!!
I purchased Maskcara products 2 years ago. My girlfriend who lives in Florida starting selling it. I live in Ohio. I was skeptical from the time I purchased my first order. Spent around $300.00. My friend had me take a picture of myself in the sunlight and email it to her. She picked out all of my colors. I never received one complaint. Moving forward 6 months later, she quit selling the products. I reached out to Maskcara. They sent me a name of someone in my area too help me. She was able to meet with me 3 weeks after I called her. She was a total *. The makeup did not stay on for more than 2 hours. I don’t think they have enough people to take care of their customers. I also learned to never order a product of any kind, unless there is a phone number to go with the company. Don’t waste your time and money.
Pingback: Seint Beauty Review (formally Maskcara Beauty) - Pretty Fresh Things
I just got my first Sent shipment today. I opened it and tried it first thing. My lips starting itching within minutes of putting it in , and after twenty years of using makeup, I could tell it wasn’t worth the money. I tried to snap all my little (and I mean little) tins into the holder/compact and they didn’t fit properly. So none of them stayed in at all. The compact/holder was made out of cardboard with a cool design. So unimpressed. I’m sending it back tomorrow.
Wow, that is crazy about your lips itching! Yeah, the compacts are really pretty but I felt like mine was going to get torn up asap since they were basically layered with decorative paper. Oh well.
Hi Kelly!!
Thank you so much for your honest review!
As someone who is in the beauty industry, I appreciate learning about new products and especially from an independent source.
I have been a consultant with Aloette Cosmetics (also a Direct Sales company) for 20 years & have personally used the products for over 30. I originally started with their make-up products due to sensitivities and allergies.
I would be curious to know if you have ever tried Aloette, and if so, would love to hear your feedback.
Thank you in advance for your consideration and time!
Hi, Ann! Thanks for your comment! I have not tried Aloette, is it non-toxic?
I’ve been using Seint for a while now and while I never had any reactions, I just don’t feel like the “highlights” had the longevity that I look for in a foundation or concealer. They make your skin look beautiful but it seemed like nothing that I did would made it last (powder, setting spray, not overapplying etc). I also feel like the highlight just didnt cover my dark circles enough. I do really like the selection of lip/cheek and contour colors so I will continue to use those but I am going back to a liquid foundation/concealer that I know will last.
Thanks for the feedback on the highlights. They did alright for me, but I do enjoy liquid foundation more.
Pingback: Maskara - Login to your account Seint
I have a very good friend of mine who is an artist that I purchased from after watching her videos for a while.
She’s amazing, but I found the makeup to also be itchy and became oily/shiny looking shortly after applying- I have never had issues with my face presenting oily.
I’ve been searching to see if others have had this issue, but the contour color seems to have changed the pigment of my skin (I haven’t used the product in several months and it is still darker where the contour was previously applied). Makes me really confused as to what exactly is in the product to cause that kind of issue. I’ve since switched to other products and really only use some of the blush colors or eyeshadow colors that I still have from Seint.
Wow, Kayla, that is really odd for a product to do that. It’d almost be a good thing bc then you wouldn’t have to further contour lol, but that does concern me about the ingredients that would do that to skin. Hmm..
Hi,I got some Seint makeup spent about 750$ (Canadian $) I find the makeup ok but pricey for the amount you get , i do not find it blending very easily like they said or lasting all day ,the makeup artist not to impressed with them once you buy your makeup . To me it feels it’s a good deal for the Seint artist getting commission and all that free makeup, for a customer not so much never getting samples or something…. Do I will buy more Seint makeup I really do not know like I said I find it pricey for what you get
I agree. I’m fine with whatever benefits the artist gets, but it can be pricey for the customer. Sometimes I think companies make it so easy/attractive to join that that’s actually how they make the bulk of their money…
Here is a review of my experience. I do find the make up a bit slimy on my skin which has taken some getting used to but I have found that once I add some setting powder it feels much drier. The colors are hyper pigmented which means that a little will go a long way. I felt like my colors were good matches except for the contour which looked gray on my skin.
Now for the bad…I was surprised that the magnetic compact is paper covered and not plastic so I’m not sure how long it will last. I wanted to return my contour and here is where the break down started to happen…first no 800 number to call. Everything has to be handled through email. Then return link wouldn’t work. Emailed the company and they said that it takes a week after shipping for the link to work…wrong. After 12 days, no working link. So they sent me a paper to fill out for my return and no shipping label so I guess that I have to do my own UPS label which is frustrating. It states on the paper that no returns will be processed without a UPS tracking number. I don’t know why they care if I have to ship the items back myself.
I like the make up but the hassle of the returns is not making it worth it.
Hi!
Thank you for the honest review. I too had a bad reaction to the makeup – as much as I wanted to like it.
There is a clean makeup brand that also has the option to put together your own palette with colors for “hac-ing” I will link it below. Hope that helps!
https://kjaerweis.com/products/the-collectors-kit
Thank you for the comment & suggestion, Katie! I haven’t seen them. I hope the pallets are a little better quality than the basically paper ones from Seint, it’d be nice to have everything together.
Have you tried Younique skin care and makeup? I sold it for a few months but after breaking my hip I just couldn’t continue to sell. However I still use their products and love them. At 71 years old people are telling me how fantastic I look. Their Twisted Mascara is awesome!
I haven’t tried them, as I haven’t researched their ingredients, but I have heard that their mascara is one of the best!!
I just received my box yesterday and was so excited to put it on and try it this morning but within a little after wearing my face became extremely itchy! I looked at the ingredients and realized it has Bismuth Oxycloride in it, which causes this issue for me. So needless to say I put in a request for return. I clicked on your return form as well above but I never saw the return form but hopefully I will get an email to return shortly.
Hopefully others will look into this ingredient…BISMUTH OXYCHLORIDE
I’m sorry it didn’t work out for you, either. I don’t know much about Bismuth Oxychloride. I hope you got your return form, if not, the site address is https://www.seintofficial.com/en/return-policy and there’s a Start Return button at the bottom. Thanks for the feedback!
Kelly this was a really helpful review. I had seen the IG posts for this brand and was intrigued. Regarding the IT Cosmetics CC Cream it has been my “go to” for the last 5 years. For special events and if I know I’m going somewhere where I will be photographed, I go with my Hourglass foundation. Much more expensive, but flawless. Regarding the problem with double ended brushes, at home I use velcro attached to the inside of my medicine cabinet to hold them so neither end gets squished. Just thought I’d mention that I purchased an empty magnetic pallette on Amazon so I could customize my own pallette of my fave shades from the various brands that I have purchased over time. The little pans are easy to remove and if they aren’t metal/magnetic, it came with metal/magnetic stickers for the bottom of the pans. My best foundation experience ever was from Prescriptives. It was custom blended for you by a makeup artist. Once you approved the color, it was stored in their database forever and could be mixed for you anywhere that carried the line. (Came in very handy when I forgot to pack mine on a business trip to Vegas once.) It even came with a sample bottle that was perfect for travel. It was pricey, but perfect. You dictated the finish and coverage level. I used to make frequent tv appearances and it always looked good on camera too. They also made my favorite lipstick. When they discontinued my favorite shade, they custom made it for me (at a small additional cost). Sadly the Prescriptives brand is no more.
Now I find that the shade matching websites are helpful if I’m searching for my color in a new brand. Just input a brand and color that you have used and like and it will tell you the colors that match in other brands. You mentioned that you have large pores, I highly recommend the Pore Fessional by Benefit.
A teeny bit goes a very long way though. If you ask, Sephora will give you a sample to try.
Really good info, Lisa, thank you so much!!!
Not sure if your still reading comments but thank you for a the information!
Oddly, I have a wonderful mascara for you to try if you like waterproof but definitely don’t like the difficulty in getting it off. Recently I tried Thrive- Brynn and is is amazing. I can not tell you how much it does not flake, how easy it is to just come off. Okay it’s not waterproof but just about close to it! I’ve never swam with it… but if doesn’t smear and show up under the eyes, flake.. etc. Check it out! Again thank you for the article!
Thank you, Becca! Sorry for the delay. I have just started reusing Thrive and loving it! I do love how it doesn’t flake either, but it is a mess when taking off lol. Thanks for the comment!!
I hate the makeup. I threw away the lids. Do you know if I need those to return?
I too, just recently ordered a palette of Seint( without brushes or extra’s) and I have buyers remorse. I am mid 60’s and don’t wear a lot of makeup, but after 2 yr’s of Covid hibernation, thought i’d step it up a little. I love a natural look, and with fine lines and wrinkles settling in, I don’t want to emphasize anything. I’m USUALLY very on top what’s good makeup, ingredients that are safe for your skin. I now can’t believe i didn’t see these reviews prior to spending $200+ Dollars. It was a disaster right from the get-go…trying to open the little tins I got my baby finger stuck in the bronzer a bit and lost some of the product. And i did not like the way the bronzer went on. Even though these are all creams, they were too dry looking, even with the lightest touch. I added more moisturizer, but then I worried about what I was putting into my skin. I have dozen’s of IT cosmetic brushes so I opted not to purchase theirs, I used my fingers and a very light touch with some buffer brushes. I realized once i got the 6 highlighters and 3 eye shadows ( all the eyeshadow colours were a miss) that this was way too much of a routine for me. But I was willing to keep trying it, maybe order Seint’s brushes, setting spray, sponge..but then thought this is tooo much! And then my skin started to feel uncomfortable ( itchy, prickly) and I kicked myself for not researching the ingredients. So now I’m about to return it all. Apparently because i got a discount on the palette, it is non-refundable, what am I going to do with this? I also have to pay return shipping. And if I read this right, there’s a 10% restocking fee…so I am quite a bit out of pocket for trying and to boot, dealing with irritated skin that I have not experienced in over 40 years. Buyer beware, do your research…I usually do but I guess it’s been so long since i bought anything for self care. If some of the other recommendations are still out there, i might look into that. I live in Canada …I know we have a lot of good skin products out there, maybe I can land on something safe, affordable and looks good. Thanks for all your honest reviews and feedback.
I’m so sorry that happened to you! Yes, prickly is a good description of how my skin felt as well. Yeah, the return is kind of a hassle. I can’t remember when I got it if they required a restocking fee, that’s not so cool. But, those fees are better than being out the total, I figure. I need to write a review on the Crunchi foundation, I like it a lot, if you want to research that. Thanks for the comment, sorry your experience wasn’t any better :/
